Subject syllabus

Lectures:
1. Accuracy and error of measurement.
2. No harmonic waveforms of electrical quantities.
3. Analog measuring instruments.
4. Digital measuring instruments, quantization errors, A/D converters.
5. Analog oscilloscopes.
6. Digital oscilloscopes.
7. Methods for measuring active electrical quantities.
8. Methods for measuring passive electrical quantities.
9. Resistivity measurements.
10. Measurement of characteristics of ferromagnetic materials.
11. Virtual measuring instruments.
12. Communication with measuring instruments.

Laboratories:
1. Initial theoretical training, safety in the laboratory.
2. Measuring of voltage and current.
3. Measuring of passive components.
4. Impact of frequency and waveform shape on measuring instrument.
5. Analog oscilloscopes.
6. Measuring of singlephase power.
7. Measuring of powers across unbalanced threephase load.
8. Measuring of frequency, period and phase shift.
9. Measurement of characteristics of ferromagnetic materials.
10. Virtual measuring instruments, LabView.
11. Digital oscilloscope and its control using GPIB bus.
12. Practical test measurement.

Projects:
10 measurement reports - theme depends on laboratory exercises.
Tests:
10 test questions - 1 question in each exercise.
