Electronic Publishing

Summary

Develop student's knowledge of electronic publishing into marketable skills. Learn the basics with this hands-on introduction to electronic page layout, digital imagery, and file preparation for print (books, magazines, newsletters) and the Web. You receive instruction and work in LaTeX, and other industry-standard publishing software. Topics include font management, HTML programming, digital photo retouching, illustration, basic animation, and logo design. Principles of visual communication are emphasized, but no background in art or design is necessary. Prerequisite: Basic computer skills.
