Summary

This subject provides an explanation of basic contents of IT security. It focuses on the symetric and public-key cryptography, cryptographic hash functions, authentication protocols, digital signatures and certificates. Course contains a survey of standards and covers legislative aspects of IT security.

After completing the course, students will be able to classify different types of attacks against After completing the course, students will be able to classify different types of attacks against IT security and explain their principles, formulate the mathematical basis of classical and modern cryptographic algorithms, apply number theory and algebraic structures used in cryptography, analyze cryptographic protocols in terms of their security, implement basic cryptographic algorithms, use cryptographic primitives, evaluate the resistance of cryptographic mechanisms to known attacks, and navigate current standards and recommendations in the field of cryptography.
