Digital Computers

Summary

The course does not presuppose a special digital computer prior knowledge, provide the basic knowledge of electrical engineering and digital circuits. In this course students learn the technologies of manufacturing digital circuits. There are also provided basic information on how to conduct communication with peripheral equipment. Much attention is paid to microprocessor technology, notably Intel processors and a monolithic computers Atmel and PIC. Students become familiar with the principles of memory, bus, and interface adapters. At the very end, students learn about the system architecture of parallel SISD, SIMD, MISD, MIMD architectures, and modern computers.
