Subject syllabus

Kinematics and dynamics of mass point.

System of particles. The center of mass. Superposition of forces and torques. Newton's second law in angular form.

The second Newton's law for rotational movements, rotational inertia and energy of rotational movement. Rolling and torque. Conservation of angular momentum. Summary of conservation laws.

Oscillations. Pendulums, simple harmonic and damped harmonic motions.

Standing and traveling waves, longitudinal and transversal waves. Wave equation. Waves propagation in homogeneous media and effects at the interface. Sound, Doppler effect, interference of waves.

Wave optics: interference, diffraction, dispersion. Light sources, photon.
