Subject syllabus

1. Mathematical minimum and use of high school mathematics in physics
Size and direction of vector resultant, use of scalar and vector product, physical meaning of derivative and integral

2. Kinematics of solids
Uniform linear motion, uniformly accelerated translational and rotational motion, uniform and uneven circular motion

3. Dynamics of bodies
Newton's law of force, mechanical work, law of energy conservation, body motion on an inclined plane, frictional forces

4. Fluid mechanics
Pascal law, Archimedes law, continuity law, Bernoulli equation, resistive forces around bodies

5. Thermodynamics
Ideal gas equation of state, isothermal, isobaric, isochoric and the first law of thermodynamics

6. Gravitational field
General law of gravity, intensity of gravitational field, gravitational potential, free fall of body and litters in gravitational field

7. Oscillations, waves
Basic equations of harmonic oscillation, traveling and standing waves, dynamics and energy of oscillation and waves

9. Electricity and magnetic field
Coulomb's law, Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's laws, induction of coil magnetic field, Hopkinson's law

10. Geometric optics
Law of reflection and refraction, imaging by hollow and convex mirror, imaging by coupling and diffuser, magnification, principle of imaging by microscope and telescope

11. Wave optics
Thin film interference, interference diffraction on optical lattice, polarization, light energy, wavelength and light frequency
