The Geology subject is dedicated to the basics of understanding the formation of the Earth's rock environment and the geological processes that lead to the formation and transformation of its upper part. It is the upper part of the Earth's body that is the source of a wide range of raw materials.
Professional knowledge: The student will gain basic knowledge about the laws that lead to the formation of minerals and rocks, and their position in individual parts of the Earth's crust. The student will distinguish and explain the distribution of minerals in the area of interest.
Professional skills: The student is able to apply basic knowledge in the field, describe the laws of the geological development of the monitored area, perform basic measurements and documentation of geological phenomena.
Professional competence: The student is able to independently solve basic geological problems, describe and evaluate the geological structure of the area, predict possible risks due to mining and other activities.
