Summary

The course provides a comprehensive view of planet Earth as a dynamic system. It integrates findings from geology, physical geography, meteorology, hydrology, and environmental sciences. The objective is to understand planetary processes and global changes in the context of sustainable development.Professional Knowledge: The student describes the internal structure of the Earth and the theory of plate tectonics, explains the functioning of the climate system and the hydrological cycle, and reliably identifies the main types of rocks and minerals, including their origins.Professional Skills: The student practically analyzes geological and topographic maps, conducts basic field measurements including the identification of rocks and geomorphological features, and independently uses the acquired data to assess natural hazards such as floods, erosion, or seismic activity.General Competencies: The student independently evaluates the impact of human activities on the Earth system, proposes sustainable solutions, and is capable of coordinating a small team during field data collection and processing.
