Engineering geology is an applied discipline that examines and evaluates the interaction of the geological environment with engineering works. It is an interdisciplinary discipline boundary between natural and technical sciences. This means that it must be based not only on the knowledge of geology, petrology, hydrogeology, geological exploration methods, geomorphology, but also knowledge of geomechanics, geotechnical engineering, foundation engineering and other disciplines.
