World Geoscience and Industrial heritage

Summary

Students will be introduced to the principles of how to work and use information about the world's geoscience and industrial heritage. In the first part of the course they will be acquainted with the general principles of how UNESCO works and creates a list of world and cultural heritage. In the second applied part of the course, they will work with specific selected UNESCO localities, especially from the point of view of geoscience and industrial tourism. We will focus more on selected European locations of the most important European countries, such as Italy, Spain, France and Germany, and then on the selection of the remaining countries. The last part of the subject will focus on selected locations in Asia, Australia, Africa and America.
