Summary

Basic terms. Importance of air conditioning in deeper mines. Risks connected
with unsuitable microclimatic conditions. Effect on human health and
performance. Methods of measuring and assessing the microclimatic conditions.
Admissible limits of microclimatic quantities. Thermal and calorific balance
of deep mine. Degree of climatic difficulty. Thermal fluctuations of mine air –
sources of heat, cold, and humidity; calculations.
Projecting of cooling equipment – air conditioning diagrams, calculation of
needed cooling output, losses of the cooling output. Waste heat.
