Summary

This course focuses on the use of modern design systems for spatial modeling of landscapes affected by mining activities and on the visualization of proposed changes and measures. Students will become familiar with the principles of creating spatial landscape models and their application in designing the future state of an area. Emphasis is placed on the clear spatial visualization of proposed solutions and on the use of digital models as tools for decision support and the presentation of changes to the landscape.

Professional Knowledge: Students will gain knowledge of the basic principles of spatial landscape modeling and the potential applications of design systems in addressing areas affected by mining activities. They will become familiar with the principles of creating and visualizing spatial models and their application in designing the new state of the landscape.
Professional Skills: Students will be able to create and modify spatial landscape models in the appropriate design environment, model proposed changes and measures, and prepare their illustrative spatial visualizations for the purposes of design, assessment, and presentation of solutions.
General Competency: Students are able to independently apply the principles of spatial modeling and digital visualization when solving professional tasks related to landscape development and changes. They can interpret spatial data, assess its suitability for creating digital models, and navigate the capabilities of design systems when modeling new land-use scenarios. They are able to critically evaluate proposed solutions in terms of their spatial relationships, correctly interpret modeling results, and present them through appropriate graphical and spatial outputs. They can apply the acquired knowledge and skills when addressing tasks related to landscapes affected by mining activities, when designing reclamation projects and other measures, and when collaborating on specialized project tasks.
