Summary

Students who complete this course will gain knowledge of software systems for design and 3D modeling of terrain and landscapes. They will learn to draw in AutoCAD and use specialized software for working with digital terrain models, designing linear structures, designing new structures on the terrain, designing pipeline networks, and modeling mineral extraction and reclamation.
Professional Knowledge: Students will acquire basic knowledge of software tools used for design, 2D drafting, and 3D modeling of terrain and landscapes. They will become familiar with the principles of working with digital terrain models and the applications of specialized software in the design of linear structures, pipeline networks, terrain modifications, mineral extraction, and reclamation.
Professional Skills: Students are able to work independently in the AutoCAD environment and use selected specialized software tools to create, edit, and visualize digital terrain models, as well as to solve basic design tasks. They can create and edit project documentation, design new terrain configurations, and handle basic tasks related to linear structures, pipeline networks, mining, and reclamation.
General Competency: The student is able to navigate the range of software tools available for design and, based on the nature of the task at hand, select the appropriate tool and workflow. The student is able to independently use the relevant software to develop a basic design proposal, continuously verify the accuracy and completeness of the work, and prepare appropriate graphical and design outputs that can be used in future professional practice.
