Abbreviation ZE
Course title Geodetical Excursion
Coordinating department Department of Geodesy and Mine Surveying
Course coordinator Ing. Jiří Plesník, Ph.D.

Summary

This course is designed to provide students with practical exposure to the field of surveying and geodesy. Through field trips, students learn about the organization of professional workplaces, the nature and scope of various surveying activities, and their practical applications. Emphasis is placed on linking the theoretical knowledge gained through study with the real-world demands of professional practice and on gaining an understanding of work procedures, responsibilities, and the organization of activities in surveying and related professions.

Professional Knowledge: Students will gain knowledge about the organization and operation of surveying workplaces and about the nature and scope of individual activities in a real-world professional setting.
Professional Skills: Students will be able to navigate work procedures and the organization of surveying activities, link theoretical knowledge to practical requirements, and identify the practical applications of various methods and technologies.
General competences: The student is able to independently and responsibly navigate the environment of surveying and geodetic practice and professionally assess the significance of individual activities and working procedures for professional employment. The student is able to critically evaluate the possibilities and limitations of applying acquired theoretical knowledge in real-world professional practice, understand the responsibilities associated with performing professional activities, and clearly communicate their findings and experience to both professionals and the general public.
