Anotace

The course provides an overview of modern approaches and technologies applied in the field of Smart Logistics. Students will become familiar with the fundamental principles of logistics systems and supply chains, logistics information systems, and digital transformation strategies in logistics. Particular attention is given to automatic identification technologies, including barcodes, QR codes, and RFID, as well as logistics data standardization and the traceability of material and information flows.

Additional topics include data analytics, logistics performance measurement using key performance indicators (KPIs), applications of the Internet of Things, digital twins, and Industry 4.0 concepts. Students will also gain an understanding of Smart Cities, intelligent transportation systems, autonomous logistics technologies, automated warehouse systems, and modern approaches to inventory management, warehousing, and material flow control. The course further addresses quality, efficiency, and sustainability aspects of logistics processes.

Professional Knowledge
Students will be able to:
- explain the fundamental principles of logistics systems and supply chain operations;
- describe the architecture and functions of logistics information systems;
- characterize the principles of automatic identification technologies (barcodes, QR codes, RFID) and their applications in logistics;
- explain the role of the Internet of Things, digital twins, and Industry 4.0 concepts in logistics environments;
- describe the principles of intelligent transportation systems and smart warehousing technologies.

Professional Skills
Students will be able to:
- analyze basic logistics processes and identify opportunities for their digitalization;
- interpret selected logistics performance indicators (KPIs);
- assess the suitability of smart technologies for specific logistics applications;
- apply basic principles of traceability and monitoring of logistics flows;
- compare alternative logistics solutions with respect to efficiency and sustainability.

General Competencies
Students will be able to:
- orient themselves in current trends in Smart Logistics and digital transformation;
- independently search for, critically evaluate, and interpret professional information sources;
- present and discuss logistics solutions using appropriate professional terminology;
- consider economic, technical, and environmental aspects when evaluating logistics processes and technologies.
