The course provides students with knowledge and practical skills in the area of advanced use of Microsoft Office applications in processing professional, statistical and economic tasks. Emphasis is placed on the effective use of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint programs in creating professional documents, processing and analyzing data and their illustrative graphic presentation.
After completing the course, the student will achieve the following learning outcomes:
Knowledge: the student characterizes the possibilities of using sections, styles, automated content, lists of images and tables and cross-references, describes the principles of working with citations, explains the principles of data analysis using pivot tables and database tools, describes the principles of statistical and analytical tools of MS Excel, including regression analysis and trend functions, describes the principles of creating professional presentations in MS PowerPoint using templates, colour schemes, interactive elements and animations.
Skills: the student will prepare a professional document using sections, styles, automatic content, lists of images and tables and cross-references, create a professional document with correctly inserted citations and bibliographical sources; create and use a pivot table for data analysis, perform simple statistical analysis using regression analysis and trend analysis; prepare a professional presentation in MS PowerPoint using an appropriate template and colour scheme, interactive elements and animations.
General competencies: the student will independently select a suitable program and workflow for solving a specific professional task, assess the suitability of the tool used, effectively connect individual MS Office applications when solving complex tasks, defend the selected processing procedure and solution to the assigned task.
