The course provides students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in the use of computer technology for processing, analyzing and interpreting technical, economic and financial data using Microsoft Excel. Students will learn to use advanced Excel workflows and tools in the analysis of technical-production indicators, evaluation of the financial situation of the company, assessment of investment efficiency and solution of investment financing issues.
After completing the course, the student will achieve the following learning outcomes:
Knowledge: the student will explain the principles of advanced processing and analysis of technical-economic data using Microsoft Excel, explain the principles of horizontal and vertical financial analysis, characterize selected ratio indicators and their significance for evaluating the financial situation of the company, explain the essence of evaluating the effectiveness of capital investments and the profitability of financial investments.
Skills: the student applies advanced workflows and functions of Microsoft Excel in the processing of economic and financial data, analyzes trends in technical-production indicators, calculates selected ratio indicators of financial analysis and graphically displays their development; evaluates the financial and economic situation of the company based on the results of the financial analysis, assesses the effectiveness of the investment in the conditions of the raw materials industry, calculates the repayment of the investment loan and draws up an amortization plan.
General competencies: the student independently selects an appropriate workflow and suitable Microsoft Excel tools for solving an economic or financial problem; critically evaluates the results of the analyses and their usability in economic decision-making, professionally interprets and presents the results of economic calculations, tables and graphic outputs.
