Summary
Upon successful completion of the course, students will achieve the following learning outcomes:
Knowledge: Students distinguish between the main types of scholarly information sources and explain the principles of information literacy and the use of academic information. Students describe the principles of citation and academic writing.
Skills: Students independently search for specialized information, develop appropriate search strategies, and evaluate the relevance and reliability of sources. Students use bibliographic tools, process the information they find, and correctly cite the sources they use.
General Competencies: Students independently select appropriate information sources and methods, critically evaluate and ethically use the information they obtain, and professionally communicate and justify their conclusions.
The course also specifically develops the student's social and communication competencies and other soft skills, especially the ability to communicate professionally in writing, to argue in a structured manner, to formulate and justify professional conclusions in a clear manner, to work critically with information, and to respect the ethical principles of academic and professional communication. These competencies are developed and verified primarily in the preparation of seminar papers, the creation of professional texts, argumentation, and the critical revision of one's own outputs.
