Basics of Hydrobiology and Microbiology

Summary

The subject is focused on the explanation of the position and function of microorganisms in waters.
The subject acquaints students with basic characteristics of aquatic microorganisms in waters with regard to their ecological function in three basic trophic levels of water - destructors, producers and consumers.
The subjects aims to provide students with a basic range of knowledge in the field of hydrobiology and microbiology, which will extend the ecological concept of water as an environment for the life of (micro) organisms and thus prepare the basis for the study of other subjects which are focused on water management and water treatment technologies (water treatment, wastewater treatment, water protection, etc.).
