Pedology

Summary

The course introduces the basics of soil science as part of the ecosystem and its
environmental components. Teaching builds on geological subjects (geology,
mineralogy and petrography) and forms the basis for the study of soil protection. Teaching is
focused on pedogenic rocks, weathering and pedogenic processes, soil composition,
mineral phases in soils, organic matter in soil and basic soil properties
(physical and chemical). The course introduces the fundamentals of soil classification Republic (according to Unified soil classification system.
