Technological Analysis I

The syllabus of the course concentrates on the issue of grain size analyses of
mixtures, dressability of raw materials, quantitative and qualitative rating
of dressing operations (efficiency rating of separation processes, calculation
of product sizing yield or separation), yield calculation of estimated results
of technological operations.

Lectures:
1. Basic dressing terms and relations.
2-3. Grain-size analysis and its evaluation including graphic representation.
4-6. Rating of material dressability (fractional analyses and representation
of their results in HR and M representations.
7-8. Quantitative analysis of sizing and separation processes – methods of
yield calculation for two or more product operations.
9. Efficiency rating of sizing and separation by a recovery method.
10-12. Efficiency rating of sizing and separation from the results of
fractional analyses of intake and products (limit Tromp curve, anamorphous
diagram).
13. Determination of estimated results of dressing operations (by means of
enrichment degree, from the material characteristics and efficiency of the
particular operation).
14. Principles of material and water sampling.

11-12.Calculation of limit numbers for sizing and separation and their graphic
