1. Introduction, historical facts. Definition of basic terms, polymers, environment, (bio) active polymers; selected characteristics of polymers and their relation to bioactivity.
2. Basic synthetic polymers - production, properties of use
3. Additives to polymers. Processing additives; antidegradants, crosslinking agents. Additives affecting other physical properties. Special fillers.
4. Polymer mixtures - preparation and basic operations. Processing of polymers.
5. Degradation vs. polymer stability (abiotic and biotic factors affecting the stability-degradation of polymers); Biodegradable polymers; Renewable Polymers.
6. Methods of bioactivity evaluation of polymers
7. Bioactive polymer systems for specific applications; Biocomposites.
8. Water-soluble polymers.
9. Polymers in the food industry.
10. Medical polymers. Polymer gels.
11. Plastic wastes, their treatment, evaluation and disposal with focus on biodegradable plastics.
12. Safety of bioactive polymer systems and legislative aspects.
13. Plastics and environment (general view of influence of human activity on nature).
14. Current situation in the area of ​​secondary processing and use of plastics.
