Subject syllabus

1. Introduction to toxicology, its structure and content. Poisons and other pollutants. Poisons in the history. Theory of toxicity. Routes of entry of substances into the body. Overview of the effects of poisons in the body. Acute and chronic effects of poisons in the body. General principles of treatment of poisoning.
2. The mechanism of effect of toxic substances, factors influencing the effects of toxic substances. Interaction of toxic substances in the body. Metabolism and disposal of toxins in the body, first aid for acute poisoning, the treatment of chronic poisoning. Preventive protection against exposure to toxic and harmful substances.
3. Biology and Biochemistry in relation to the toxicology of chemicals, the existing legislation relating to toxic and harmful to health substances, hygiene norms. 12. Chemical Ecotoxicology, OECD tests, toxicity of the living organisms (animals and plants), toxicity of alkaloids, molds, fungi, drugs, toxic effects from the industrial processing and toxicity of these manufactured products.
13. Toxicity of products - products for home and industrial utilization, eventually chemical weapons.
