Steel Casting and Crystallization

Summary

Subject is read with the purpose to understand the basic regularities and
processes proceeding at steel casting and solidification, the conditions of
homogenous and heterogeneous nucleation of crystals, the micro-segregate and
macro-segregate processes, the defects of ingots and continuously cast blanks,
the theoretical and technological aspects at steel casting into the ingot-
moulds as well as on the continuous casting machine.
