Subject syllabus

Thermodynamic basics of steel processes. Molten metals, nonmetals and gases, slag, fundaments of crystallization and segregation processes. Standards and range of steel castings for general use, corrosion resistant, heat resistant and high-manganese steel. The electrical and thermal operating mode electric arc furnaces and electric induction furnace. Linings of electric arc furnace ramming materials for electric induction furnaces. Production processes of non-alloyed and alloyed steel castings in alkaline and acid electric arc furnace, their intensification. Production processes unalloyed and alloyed steel in an electric induction furnace. Function of the main thermodynamic and kinetic conditions of metallurgical processes. Deoxidation of steel in ladles and casting. Secondary metallurgy in steel foundries.
