Subject syllabus

Dislocation mechanism of plactic deformation, the slip systems.
The strain, stress and strain rate – mathematical formulation.
The normal and tangential (shear) stress components, determination of stress intensity.
State of stress invariance, the main normal stresses and state of stress indicator.
Influence of the chemical composition on phase structure and deformation behaviour of steel.
Analysis of the hot tensile, hot compression and hot torsion test.
Effect of the state of structure on deformation behaviour.
Influence of the thermomechanical factors on deformation behaviour.
The dynamic softening processes, the Zener-Hollomon parameter.
The kinetics of postdynamic softening processes, the Avrami equation.
Mathematical description of strain-stress curve during hot and cold forming.
Limit plasticity of metallic metals and hypothesis of plasticity.
The control evolution of structure during deformation and during cooling of hot formed products.
The application possibilities of plastometer Gleeble, the basic principles of physical simulation of forming processes.
