Summary

Properties of molten glasses and interpretation of melting processes
(viscosity, crystallization, surface tension, thermal and electrical
conductivity). Mechanism of glass melting processes, description of
technological processes (batch preparation, melting furnaces, hot forming and
annealing of glass). The main types of commercial glasses, their properties.
Glass-ceramic materials. Ceramics on basis of clay raw materials (porcelain,
earthenware, stoneware, bricks).
