Subject syllabus

• Table of energetic sources. Basic characteristic and classification of secondary energetic sources.
• Definition and meaning of secondary energetic sources in relationship with the energy policy of CZ and EU.
• Technical – economical parameters of utilization this sources in industrial area. Division the secondary energy sources.
• Secondary fuels – occurrence, technical parameters and utilization in plant energy system.
• Fuels storage – according to fuel type. Design of reservoirs.
• Secondary heat - utilization the enthalpy of exhaust/fuel gases using the exhaust-heat boilers and gas turbines. Design and thermal characteristics of these units, unit types and unit recovery.
• Low-potentials heat – utilization of heat pumps. Thermodynamics, designs, types, utilization.
• Secondary chill - cooling water and its utilization. Cooling elements. T echniques of cooling – by water, by expansion, through the evaporation, through the matters with higher boiling point. Comparison the techniques.
• Utilization the enthalpy of metal – in blast-furnaces and metallurgical plants.
• Utilization the coke – methods, advantages and disadvantages.
• Utilization the slag – methods, advantages and disadvantages.
• Secondary pressure. Utilization the overpressure. Expansion turbines.
• Now-a-days technology uses secondary sources.
