Characteristics and meaning of light metals, principles of particular applied
technologies of production. Aluminum - Bayer’s and sintered method of Al2O3
production, acid and reducing methods for obtaining Al2O3. Melt electrolysis
in electrolyte Na3AlF6 + Al2O3, characteristic of the process. Possibilities
of Al refinement, other progresses apply to production of Al alloys.
Properties and using Al, division of Al alloys, fundamental systems, methods
of property improvement. Special materials preparing by powder metallurgy,
composite materials, foam. Production of Mg, preparation input raw materials,
methods of obtaining Mg by melt electrolysis and silico-thermal process.
Division and using of Mg alloys, directions of new alloys development.
Technology of Li, Be production - applications. Other light metals (Ca,
Barium, Sr, alkali metal)
