Subject syllabus
1. Basic terms and definitions – waste, types of waste.
2. Waste management, legislation.
3. Basic possibilities for waste utilization, characteristics of common types of waste.
4. Recycling, basic recycling technologies, secondary raw materials.
5. Treatment of waste and sorting of materials, used methods and equipment for treatment and separation.
6. Polymer waste – basic recycling technologies for their processing.
7. Glass, paper, textile waste – basic recycling technologies for their processing.
8. Selected combined waste – basic recycling technologies for their processing.
9. Aluminum waste, copper waste – basic recycling technologies for their processing.
10. Iron, zinc, tin, lead waste – basic recycling technologies for their processing.
11. Waste containing precious metals – basic recycling technologies for their processing.
12. Circular economy, waste minimization, product life cycle. Possibilities of waste utilization from ecological and economic point of view. Limiting aspects of waste utilization, utilization rate of selected waste.
13. Integrated prevention, the effect of selected metals on the environment and on humans.
