1. Introductory lesson
Technology overview. History. Technological terms. Types and classification of technologies. Conventional and unconventional technologies.
2. The connection between prototype and production technology.
The choice of technology according to the requirements for the construction and design of the medical device. Necessities of prototype production. Essentials of production processes. Serial production.
3. Technology for metal processing
Distribution of metals. Basics of metal forming--rolling, drawing, extrusion, shearing, bending. Hollow body production technology. Unconventional methods of metal forming. Powder metal forming technology.
4. Excursion, workshop.
5. Plastic processing technology.
Division and preparation of plastics. Plastics processing technology – injection, extrusion, pressing, blowing, shaping, rolling, casting. Complementary technologies. Composite materials production technology.
6. Subtractive technology
Conventional production technology. Metalworking. Plastic processing.
7. Additive technology
Unconventional production technology. Introduction to 3D printing. Overview of technologies for printing plastic and metal materials. Properties of materials for 3D printing. Rapid Prototyping.
8. 3D printing in healthcare.
Direct Digital Manufacturing. 3D printing in dentistry. 3D printing in surgery. 3D printing for medical equipment. Bioprinting.
