Preclinical mechanical testing

Summary

This course provides an overview of the principles and techniques used to evaluate the mechanical properties of medical devices. Through a combination of lectures, case studies and hands-on laboratory exercises, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the importance of preclinical mechanical testing in the development of medical devices.
The following areas will be discussed in the course:
Principles of mechanical testing
• Standards and regulations for mechanical testing of medical devices
• Common mechanical tests for medical devices
• Statistical analysis of mechanical test data
