Summary

The subject is designed for students of all faculties of VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava, whose linguistic competence is at least B1 level and who want to further expand and deepen their language skills. The form of the activity mainly consists in conversation and communication on current as well as professional topics.

Knowledge: Students will be able to explain the rules of spoken German specific to the main conversational topics, the differences between formal and informal language, and which linguistic devices are appropriate for various communicative situations.

Skills: Students will deliver an independent presentation on a specialist topic relevant to their field of study, defend their views and answer follow-up questions.

General competences: Students independently search for, critically evaluate and process information sources in German, and formulate and defend their own views.
