1. Introduction, reaction rate and its description by formal mechanism, simple chemical reactions
2. Formal kinetics of complex reactions (simultaneous, reversible, lateral, sequential and chain reactions)
3. Formal kinetics of chain reaction and polycondenzation
4. Experimental methods of chemical kinetics, measurement of reaction rate, evaluation of measurements
5. Mechanism of elementary action I - theory of active collisions
6. Mechanism of elementary action II - theory of absolute reaction velocities,
7. New theory of mechanism description, advantages and shortcomings of individual theories
8. Reactions in the gas phase, reactions in the liquid phase, precipitation in solution
9. Factors influencing the rate of chemical reaction, environmental impact
10. Chemical reactions in solutions
11. Kinetics of heterogeneous reactions, mechanism, speed determining step
12. Theory of homogeneous catalysis, autocatalysis, examples
13. Heterogeneous catalysis, mechanism, activity of catalysts
14. Photocatalysis, principle and description of mechanism, examples
Laboratory exercises
1. Introduction, content of laboratory exercises and requirements for obtaining credit.
2. Determination of the order of reaction in solution by the method of measuring the half-life of the chemical reaction.
3. Determination of velocity constant
4. Determination of activation energy
5. Determination of temperature dependence of activation energy
6. Determination of photocatalytic reaction rate constant
Exercises will be completed with a blackboard exercise with theoretical calculations.
