Nanomaterials for medical and pharmaceutical applications

Summary

Within the course the student will acquire knowledge about applications of nanomaterials and nanotechnologies in medical and pharmaceutical field. Inorganic and organic materials will be studied, including carbon nanomaterials and polymeric materials and their potential for pharmaceutical, antimicrobial and medical applications such as diagnostic imaging, gene therapy, biosensors, etc. Attention will also be paid to toxicological aspects of nanomaterials. in this area and current legislation relevant to this topic.
