1. Introduction – course requirements.
2. Nanomaterials – basic structural definitions, general applications.
3. Basic applications of nanomaterials and sustainable technologies. Nanotechnological processes for effective environmental protection.
4. Legal, ethical and social aspects of the use of nanotechnologies and nanomaterials.
5. Nano-waste – origin, risks, detection, monitoring and legislation. Labelling of nanomaterials and nano-waste.
6. Nanomaterials for environmental applications – nanocatalysts, nanosorbents, nanomembranes, nanomaterials for environmental remediation.
7. The energy industry as a source of nanomaterials and nano-waste.
8. Recycling processes for materials and nanomaterials using nanotechnology.
9. LCA – the life cycle of nanomaterials, functional units in nano-LCA, methodological phases of LCA applied to nanoproducts.
10. LCA – model release of particles/nanoparticles, impact assessment (LCIA) – the fate of nanoparticles in the environment. Waste management and end-of-life (EoL) of nanomaterials.
11. Lecture by an industry expert. Excursion.
