Environmental applications of nanomaterials

Language of instruction čeština
Code 9360-0607
Abbreviation EAN
Course title Environmental applications of nanomaterials
Coordinating department CNT - Nanotechnology Centre
Course coordinator doc. Ing. Karla Čech Barabaszová, Ph.D. Paed.IGIP

Anotace

Students will learn about the structural definitions of nanomaterials, the legal, ethical and social aspects of their use, and, above all, the issue of nano-waste – from its generation, monitoring and labelling through to the legislative framework and recycling processes. The core of the course is devoted to the practical application of life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology to nanoproducts, including the determination of specific functional units, modelling the release and fate of nanoparticles in the environment, and the assessment of the end-of-life phase.
