Blasting operation and rock disintegration

Summary

The main topic of the course is to get acquainted with the problem of rock disintegration with blasting work. The basics of the explosion disconnection mechanism are defined. The range of blasting techniques, their utility properties and the way they are handled and used. Other forms of rock disintegration are included as a mechanical disintegration with knives or chisels, disconnection by pressurized water and other special methods. An essential part of the subject is the relevant legislation of the Czech Republic, especially in the field of blasting works. The student will learn how to design blasting while excavation the underground objects (horizontal structures, caverns, tunnels, etc.) with the optimal design of the blasting technology.
