Summary

In the course "Introduction to Analysis of Building Structures", students will gain basic knowledge in the field of building mechanics and building dynamics. The course will provide students with basic information about the degrees of freedom of mass objects and building structures. The course also includes determining cross-sectional characteristics or determining stresses and strains in load-bearing building structures. The course will also provide basic information about damped and undamped vibrations of building structures. They will then use this acquired knowledge in the study of subsequent subjects.

Learning outcomes:
- calculate degrees of freedom of mass objects and building structures,
- find the resultant of a system of forces and compute the static moment,
- define center of gravity and other cross-sectional characteristics of planar shapes,
- describe oscillatory movement of the load-bearing building structures.
