Anotace

The graduate of the course will be able to identify and describe the basic principles of IFR flight planning and operations, explain aviation regulatory requirements, and characterize procedures used for the preparation and execution of operational flights. The graduate will be able to describe the principles of flight plan development, evaluate the influence of operational, meteorological, navigation, and economic factors on flight planning, and interpret information from relevant operational documentation. The graduate will be able to apply acquired knowledge to flight route planning, selection of altitudes and speeds, fuel planning, airport selection, and evaluation of operational limitations. The graduate will be able to evaluate flight progress in terms of safety, efficiency, and operational economy, use electronic decision-support tools, and propose appropriate solutions for abnormal and special operational situations. The graduate will be able to independently assess the correctness of IFR flight planning, justify selected operational procedures, communicate professional information, and take responsibility for decisions related to the safe and efficient operation of transport aircraft.
