Language of instruction čeština
Code 342-3351
Abbreviation TLPP
Course title Theory of instrument flying
Coordinating department Institute of Transport
Course coordinator Ing. Jiří Hořínka, Ph.D.

Summary

The graduate of the course will be able to identify and describe the basic principles of instrument flight, explain aviation regulatory requirements, and characterize the influence of technical, human, and operational factors on safe flight without external visual references. The graduate will be able to describe the principles of using airborne and ground-based facilities, interpret information provided by flight instruments, and explain the influence of human capabilities, perceptual limitations, and automation on pilot decision-making. The graduate will be able to apply acquired knowledge to analyse individual phases of instrument flight, evaluate the impact of meteorological conditions, operational limitations, and aircraft technical condition on flight execution. The graduate will be able to propose appropriate procedures for abnormal situations, assess risks associated with instrument flight, and apply principles of modern methods of aircraft control and navigation in aviation operations. The graduate will be able to independently assess the influence of human factors and operational conditions on flight safety, justify selected solutions to operational situations, communicate professional information, and take responsibility for decision-making during instrument flight operations.
