Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to identify and describe the organisational structure of an airline, explain the regulatory requirements for airline establishment and certification, and describe the process of obtaining an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) together with approvals for specialised operations. Students will be able to analyse airline business models, the principles of network planning, airline operations management, fleet planning and commercial processes, including airport slot allocation, product distribution, e-commerce, digitalisation and revenue management. Furthermore, they will be able to explain the organisation of flight operations, ground operations, aircraft maintenance, and airline quality and safety management systems, including the principles of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Compliance Monitoring. Students will be able to apply the acquired knowledge to solve practical case studies, propose organisational and operational solutions in accordance with applicable aviation regulations, critically evaluate the operational, commercial and safety aspects of airline management, and defend their proposed solutions using sound professional arguments.
