Summary

The course builds upon the knowledge acquired in Safety Management in Air Transport 1 and focuses on the practical implementation, operation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Safety Management Systems (SMS) within civil aviation organizations. Students become familiar with the principles of Safety Assurance, safety performance monitoring, internal audits, safety data analysis, occurrence investigation, and the application of predictive approaches to safety management. Particular emphasis is placed on the practical use of safety information, safety intelligence, and data-driven decision-making to enhance organizational safety performance. The course also includes case studies focused on the implementation and evaluation of SMS in aircraft operators, aerodrome operators, and air navigation service providers.
