Knowledge: The student explains the basic principles of occupational safety and health and fire protection, understands their legal framework, and characterizes the basic duties of employers and employees. The student describes occupational accidents, risk prevention, occupational risk factors, personal protective equipment, OSH documentation, and the fundamentals of fire protection.
Skills: The student applies basic OSH and fire protection requirements to common workplace situations, identifies basic risks, and proposes appropriate preventive measures. The student understands the procedure to follow in the event of an occupational accident and selects an appropriate course of action and suitable means in the event of a fire.
General competences: The student assesses a common workplace situation from the perspective of occupational safety and health and fire protection, decides on an appropriate course of action, and justifies the decision with regard to relevant legal, organizational, and safety requirements.
