Subject syllabus
1. Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety and Fire Protection. Basic terminology and the legal framework.
2. Duties of employers, managers and employees in the field of occupational health and safety.
3. Organisation of occupational health and safety, employee training and professionally competent persons.
4. Occupational accidents. Recording, reporting, investigation and compensation.
5. Risk prevention in occupational health and safety. Basic concepts of hazard and risk. The employer’s duty to identify and reduce risks. Principles and hierarchy of preventive measures.
6. Occupational risk factors and categorisation of work.
7. Occupational diseases and occupational health services.
8. Personal protective equipment and safety signs and signals.
9. Occupational health and safety documentation and inspection activities.
10. Fundamentals of fire protection. Legal duties and organisation of fire protection.
11. The combustion process, combustion products and appropriate behaviour in the event of fire.
12. Firefighting equipment, classes of fire, fire protection documentation and the Integrated Rescue System of the Czech Republic.
