Subject syllabus

1. Basic units used in geodesy according to the SI system.
2. Fundamentals of cartography, working with maps, State Map Series.
3. Construction of a longitudinal profile from a 1:10,000 topographic map and its graphical representation according to the relevant ČSN standard.
4. Coordinate calculations, forward intersection, calculation and adjustment of a polygon traverse.
5. The THEO 020 theodolite: description, axial accuracy conditions, and instrument errors.
6. Measurement of horizontal and vertical angles using the THEO 020.
7. Surveying a leveling series using the technical leveling method, its calculation and adjustment.
8. Trigonometric height measurements.
9. Detailed positional surveying of a portion of the territory and preparation of map documentation.
10. Basic stakeout tasks: staking out a point, staking out a line, staking out perpendiculars.
11. Staking out a structure with a three-dimensional layout and securing it with construction stakes.
12. Elevation staking-out tasks, staking out a line or plane with a given slope, and staking out contour lines. Calculation of areas and volumes.
13. Awarding course credit.
