Summary

Professional knowledge of the fundamental principles of cartography, the geometric foundations of cartographic products, map projections, and map content elements. Knowledge and understanding of the principles of cartographic language, the design and use of cartographic symbols, methods for representing and interpreting planimetric and altimetric features, cartographic generalisation, and basic cartometric tasks. Professional skills in reading and interpreting map content, using cartographic symbols and geographical names, assessing map accuracy, and gaining basic familiarity with national mapping products, geodatabase systems, and thematic maps. General competences to independently assess the suitability of a cartographic product for solving basic professional tasks, correctly interpret map content, and select and use appropriate cartographic sources.
