Subject syllabus

1. UN goals in the areas of sustainable development, digital inclusion, and environmental protection.
2. Green and digital transformation for sustainable development in the EU. Technology transfer in the context of Industry 4.0, international perspective. Transfer of low-carbon technologies.
3. Global technology centers – a historical overview and current trends in the establishment of technology centers. Innovation ecosystems and their role in international technology transfer. Challenges of international technology transfer in developing countries.
4. The role of international organizations (WTO, WIPO) and policies in supporting global technology transfer. Technology transfer from the perspective of WTO international trade rules. Liberalization of trade in information technology, ITA Agreement.
5. Commercialization of industrial property and intellectual property protection. Ethics and social responsibility in international technology transfer.
6. Research and development as the basis for a country's technological development. Forms and tools of research and development internationalization, measuring the degree of internationalization of science and research according to OECD methodology. International comparison of R&D. Identification of key technology leaders in the EU.
7. Institutional and financial prerequisites for conducting research in the Czech Republic (National Research, Development and Innovation Policy. Innovation Strategy – National RIS3 Strategy) and the EU.
8. Research organizations in the Czech Republic. Types of research organizations, their identification, and evaluation of research organization outputs. The importance of doctoral study programs and the introduction of professional doctorates at Czech universities.
9. Knowledge transfer in the Czech Republic. Technological incubation of start-ups. Cooperation between research organizations, especially universities, and the application sphere, support for the creation of spin-off and start-up companies based on research outputs.
10. Innovation and competitiveness. EU technological sovereignty – current status, opportunities, and challenges. Investment in research and development of key technologies in the Czech Republic.
11. Technology as an export commodity. The importance of mining and oil technologies for Czech exports. Map of global industry opportunities. Control of technology exports in the EU/Czech Republic and dual-use goods. Sanctions imposed by the EU on Russia.
12. Science for society – popularization of science in the Czech Republic. Psychology of technology transfer.
13. Security aspects of technology transfer at the level of states, companies, and individuals.

For communication beyond in-person lectures and exercises, the Moodle learning management system (lms.vsb.cz) is used. This platform facilitates communication not only between the instructor and students but also among students themselves.
