Prototype construction-modeling I

Language of instruction čeština
Code 632-3031
Abbreviation SPM I
Course title Prototype construction-modeling I
Coordinating department Department of Materials and Technologies for Vehicles
Course coordinator Ing. Pavel Klaus, Ph.D.

Summary

By completing this course, students will gain comprehensive knowledge of the materials and technologies used in the construction of functional models and prototypes in the field of industrial design. They will understand the principles of prototype and small-batch production and will be able to assess the suitability of individual manufacturing processes with regard to product design, material properties, and the technological feasibility of the design. Students will become familiar with the basic methods of assembling structural assemblies, hand-forming metal materials, welding, soldering, and bonding structural elements, and will understand their technical and material contexts.
They are able to apply the acquired knowledge in the design and implementation of structural parts of models and prototypes, including work with composite materials, plastic components, and materials used in structural and interior elements of products. The student is able to take into account the technological and mechanical properties of materials during the construction and assembly of a prototype and understands the basic principles of preparation, joining, and surface treatment of individual components. Graduates of this course are able to effectively integrate design concepts with the technological processes of prototype production and are familiar with practical methods for the realization of functional models and structural prototypes.
