Quality Management

Summary

The subject is oriented on explanation of quality management meaning, principles, processes, methods and tools. Basic quality management concepts and procedures of quality management at various stages of product life cycle will be explained too. The attention will be also paid to economic analyses within quality management, as well as to European Union approaches to quality assurance and conformity assessment.
Students will acquire comprehensive knowledge and skills in quality management, enabling them to: understand fundamental concepts and terminology of quality management, analyze and implement the requirements of ISO 9000 standards within quality systems in organizations, identify and explain key quality management processes and their significance to an organization, evaluate the economic aspects of quality management, including the measurement of quality costs, use standard methods and tools for planning and continuous quality improvement, understand EU approaches to quality assurance and their application in the business environment.
